Ludwig Van Beethoven – Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement (61 Key Trial Version)

I first tried to play this last March on my fb. But i had so many mistakes including pauses I mistakenly interpreted as expressionism. If you want to see it, here is the link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1502516929788846&id=100000916603086

I first heard this beautiful, haunting piece back in my last years in elementary I think. I was a fan of the anime Detective Conan/Case Closed and Episode 11 was “The Moonlight Sonata Murders”. since then he first movement got stuck in my head and I was determined to find the piece so I can learn it. I found an abridged version on my elder brother’s MAPEH (Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health) but I was disappointed since it was the easy version in E minor and around that time I was already trained to play by ear, so I know it’s not the real score. I found it in a piano course book (Michael Aaron Piano Course Grade 4) years later.

I am only a grade 1 piano student and I hadn’t finished that level yet. I only had 3 months of piano due to budget constraints that time, but having background on the keyboard made the big difference since I was able to learn fast and finished Beginner and Preparatory one month each and started grade 1 on my 3rd month…With that being said, with my current level in piano, forgive me for some fingering mistakes if any. I learned to read this piece alone, without a teacher’s supervision. Studied this for 15 days 17 years ago but back then I was not able to put emphasis on the top melody notes and played them equally loud as the underlying rhythm notes. Because of Mr. Robert Estrin I was able to realize that critical mistake and here is my attempt. But of course, playing this on a weighted keyboard or piano is obviously better.

I just played this, not to say this is the perfect cover. I do hope that someday I will be able to play this on a grand piano or at least get a decent 88 fully weighted midi keyboard and just run Addictive Keys on it. I also can play the second movement of Beethoven’s Sonata Pathetique…another beautiful piece. I also have developed a version for 61 keys. 😀 I hope I can cover it soon. 🙂

Please support my channel through small donations that I may be able to buy some new gears fr my future videos, including, but not limited to, a10-inch tablet and (hopefully) an 88-key keyboard or even a midi controller so that i can do some full-piano covers with the full88-key range. any donated amount will be appreciated and rest assured will be used to fulfill my projects.
